What Is This Session About?

In this course, you will learn how to apply performance psychology to enhance and hone their personal effectiveness and resilience, which is a contributory factory to learning and work performance.

Drawing learning and experiences from top athletes, you will:

  1. Exercise self-awareness by monitoring the current behaviours and ways of working in personal and professional capacities
  2. Identify the factors salient to peak performance and find out the root causes for performance deficiencies
  3. Leverage and tap into their strength and potential to hone personal effectiveness and resilience, to contribute towards learning, and work performance
  4. Use performance psychology processes, strategies and techniques for improvement to overcome problems that impede and influence optimal human performance

Associate Professor & Head of Psychology Programmes | Singapore University of Social Sciences

Associate Professor Emily Ortega heads the psychology undergraduate and postgraduate programmes at the Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS). Emily is a hghly experienced Sport Psychologist who has worked with some of Singapore's best athletes, helping them to achieve their sporting aspirations to consistently perform at their very best in high-level competitions such as the SEA Games, Asian Games, Commonwealth Games, Olympics, and World Cups. A biofeedback specialist, Emily is an applied practitioner who uses biofeedback to monitor and measure physiological responses to stress.
