With the pace of digitalisation being accelerated, we have little to no choice but to keep up or risk getting left behind. Since the pandemic started, there has been a 50% increase in the use of online learning platforms for training-related work. The need to be kept up-to-date on new technology tools becomes especially prevalent to keep learners engaged in today's business landscape.

What Is This Session About?

Are you guilty of repeatedly using basic technology tools such as Zoom?

How have trainers and facilitators been adjusting to virtual learning in the new norm?

With the pace of digitalisation being accelerated, we have little to no choice but to keep up or risk getting left behind. Since the pandemic started, there has been a 50% increase in the use of online learning platforms for training-related work. The need to be kept up-to-date on new technology tools becomes especially prevalent to keep learners engaged in today's business landscape.

As trainers, the adoption of an array of technological tools becomes paramount in helping your learners understand, engage, and resonate better with your content. To help you kickstart your journey in picking up new technology tools that you can utilise in your field of work, the Institute for Adult Learning has specially curated and developed a two-day short programme, in partnership with Apple Inc., that introduces learners to tech tools developed by Apple.

An Apple Macbook will be required for this course. Learners will be introduced to tools that can be used for content creation for rapid course development, which will ultimately aid in the delivery of interactive and engaging online and F2F learning. This session will also incorporate principles found in IAL SECRET Online Learning Framework, such as Social collaboration, Reflection and Cognitive Load.

Unlike most courses, there will be differentiated instructions for learners who are on opposite ends of their digital literacy journey for this course, given that the course is designed for those who are new to tech-enabled learning, as well as those who want to go further in their development of high-quality digital course resources. Depending on your current level of expertise, learners are able to freely choose the journey they wish to undertake for the course.

What Does The Session Cover?

By the end of the workshop, learners will be able to gain:

Knowledge-based learning objectives:

Strengthen online learning with the creation adoption of reflective practice, social collaboration methods to encourage learner participation and engagement, and structuring the training session with consideration of cognitive load based on the learning profile.

Skills-based learning objectives:

Develop high quality digital course resources
Leverage Apple Technology for rapid course development and interactive and engaging online and F2F learning
